News :Ursa Major Review

This is pretty late but since I'm in preseason right now, it's a bit hard to type a review. This review was meant to be written in the morning but volleyball kept coming up so it ended up taking the whole day to do it :(

Ursa Major is the Number 1 album on iTunes right now. That's very impressive for a band who hasn't released a full album in 6 years! It's also been climbing the charts over at Amazon. Over all, the band did very well when it came to selling the album, even though they did little promotion. I guess we're just very loyal fans!

The review of the album is solid. I would definitely give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. It's also a biased opinion since they are my favorite band. Here it goes:

Can You Take Me - Great opening! Really gets you riled up for the rest of the CD.
Don't Believe a Word - Been out a while. The explicit version is the only one worth ! listening to.
Bonfire - This was the song I was looking forward to the most. Very impressive and hopefully this will be the next single.
A Sharp Knife - Very very good. I heard a few boots before and wasn't impressed. Starts a bit slow but once SJ starts screaming, "A SHIV" you get right in to it.
One In Ten - This "ditty" isn't awful but, it shouldn't come after A Sharp Knife. It's a bit odd.
About to Break - Amazing lyrics! Starts pretty slow but it picks up after about a minute.
Summer Town - The rap is kind of weird. I didn't like the music all that much. I felt it was a bit overproduced.
Why Can't You Be - Tony's guitar riffs are amazing!
Water Landing - Extre! mely different from its original version. Not bad. The lyrics ! are simp ly amazing and the beat is pretty much the same.
Dao of St. Paul - I liked the acoustic versions better. The choir singing is weird since it's such a melancholy song.
Monotov's Private Opera - Sounds almost exactly like the Brilliance of Berkeley version, which is a good thing.
Carnival Barker (Instrumental) - Tease.

If you haven't bought the album yet, go get it! Buy it from Amazon, Best Buy, or iTunes.
